Features to know about

Get More Out of Your Vehicle: Class III Strength with a 2" Receiver

This hitch gives you a solid connection point for towing or hauling gear. With a 4,000 lb maximum gross trailer weight and 400 lb tongue weight rating (even when used with weight distribution), it’s ideal for light to moderate trailers, small campers, bike racks, or cargo carriers. The 2" x 2" receiver opening matches the most common accessories, so your existing ball mounts and racks will fit without adapters.

Built to Last: Fully Welded, Corrosion-Resistant Steel Construction

The hitch is made from powder coated steel with a gloss black finish over a protective base coat for superior rust resistance. The precision, robotic welds give it a strong, clean build that holds up under load. Its round-tube design adds a bit of style while keeping it sturdy and durable through years of towing and hauling.

Simple to Install: Bolt-On Fit with No Welding Required

This hitch is custom fit and bolts straight onto the frame using the included hardware kit—no drilling or welding needed. The mounting holes line up for proper alignment, giving you a secure fit in less time. Even if you’re installing it in the driveway with basic tools, it goes on cleanly and stays put once tightened down.

Thanks for the follow up, have only really used it once, but am very happy with it.

by:

Fit perfectly
Suggest a can of dry lubricant
to help remove the rubber hangers for the exhaust system.
Can be done with the car on the ground. It was easier when one side was lifted with a jack. Put a block under the tire for saftey.
Nice doing business with this company

Hitch arrived when scheduled. Everything was in the box as expected. Installation was around 45 minutes and the hitch fits perfectly. Courteous service and etrailer answered the phone...on a Saturday, when I needed them too. It was nice to have free shipping as well. I would, and did recommned etrailer to a friend.

by:

Fit on this was perfect. Installation was super easy and only took about 30 mins. The only time I needed another hand was when trying to bolt the hitch into place, but my 11 year old was able to hold it up long enough.

by:

The hitch kit for my 2015 Ford Flex was a perfect fit and the wiring kit was an exact match. This was a simple installation. A friend and I did this install in less than an hour, start to finish.

I am now able to tow my trailer & carry the quads to the dunes.

Thanks for everything.

I will recommend etrailer.com to all my friends.

by:

Very good quality product, Curt hitch for a dual exhaust Ford Flex, and super speedy filling the order and delivery. Bonus, shipping was FREE for the trailer hitch! I saved a ton of money, less than half the price of uhaul and Sears, although I needed to install it myself (it was an easy install.) I definitely recommend this business, my friend who had a great experience referred me and I will do the same because I am so pleased, thanks!

by:

The hitch itself was easy to install on my model flex. Four bolts and three muffler hangers removed and re-installed, took about 20 minutes. The reason I did not give 5 stars is the packaging is sub-par. I ordered the wrong hitch to begin with and both boxes arrived with holes busted in the sides, the hitch was loose inside and one box had lost half of staples holding it shut. I was surprised that the wire harness I ordered didn't fall out.

by:

solid, heavy build, fit perfectly, instructions are clear. will use mainly for bike rack.

was able to install myself by backing the car onto ramps, lowering the mufflers onto vertical cinder blocks and then resting the hitch on top of the mufflers while getting first bolts threaded.

the only minor issue is that the box arrived really beat up via UPS; the hitch loose inside and actually poking out a hole. but the damn thing is indestructible so it hardly matters!

by:

Easy install high quality.

by:

Great product that installed and fit just as described. The package looked destroyed, but the hitch was fine inside.

by:

Very easy installation, looks and works great.

by:

I appreciated the fast shipping.

by:

Great product and perfect service from etrailer. Couldn't have been a better experience!

by:

Fits perfectly and super easy to install

by:

Not as easy as indicated

by:

I was able to install this on my 2016 Ford flex limited without any help aside from a couple Jack stands. Fit great, looks great, couldn't be happier! I would recommend etrailer.com to a friend.

by:

The hitch I purchased is great. The instructions for installation were very clear. Unfortunately, having a car in the Northeast makes getting rusty bolts off the frame very difficult. But once I finally did the hitch went on very easy.

by:

Good looking Hitch. 39 pounds. Delivery good - showed up before scheduled. Installation tips: 1 You absolutely must drop dual exhaust (I use WD40 and Hand Clamps to push Rubber Exhaust Hangers apart) 2 Lift "big paddle end" of hitch into place first. 3 This is a two person job. Person one-to lift Hitch into place. Person two-thread bolts into uni-body of Flex (thanks to my beautiful wife).

by:

Fit perfectly and it was a one man job.

by:

Quick and easy install!

by:

I've attached a few scaled down photos of the hitch receiver installed.  From the time I got the car on jackstands to the time I was lowering the car back down was 25 minutes.  It was a very easy install, even by myself. I failed to take a photo of the actual bike rack and bikes so I attached a photo of the kids in the backseat.  If you look carefully, you can see the 2 kid's bikes out the back window.  My mountain bike sits low enough of the bike carrier that it wasn't visible.  Thanks again for all your help getting this in time for the vacation.

by:

Installation went smoothly, and was exactly as described.

by:

Fast shipping and very professional

by:

This hitch actually fits a Flex with dual exhaust. If you have a Flex with dual exhaust, P/N 13110 will save you a lot of time and trouble. I actually got it on myself. Plus it's made in the USA. The other one, P/N E95KR did not fit. I'd say that one will only work with 2009 thru 2012 Flex's with single exhaust.

by:

Product was perfectly designed to be easy to install, robust, and as elegant as a hitch design can be. Even the instructions were easy to follow along with. The trickiest part is removing the rubber isolators for the mufflers from the hangers. You need to remove them to gain excess for a torque wrench to ensure you don't over-tighten the mounting bolts in the weldnuts on the chassis. Etrailer.com even caught an error in my order, corrected it, and confirmed that their catch was indeed in error.
Thank you Curt and etrailer!

Worked well with no issues. Used for about 6 months, then got another Flex. Need to swap it in as well.

  • Which Curt Hitch 2016 Ford Flex with Dual Exhaust
I wish there was, but if you look at the difference between the part # 13551 that you have and the Curt hitch that does fit the dual exhaust models part # C13110 you can see there's a pretty huge difference (see attached pictures). I wish I had a great solution for your scenario but the only way you'll be able to install a hitch on your 2016 Ford Flex with dual exhaust is going to be with the Curt hitch # C13110.

  • Will Curt Trailer Hitch for Dual Exhaust Fit Single Exhaust 2010 Ford Flex
Hi Jack; it looks like it will based on the holes in the frame and the installation instructions. However, according to Curt the # C13110 will only fit dual exhaust models. If you have a single exhaust 2010 Ford Flex you need the Curt # 13551 instead.

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2012 Ford Flex SEL without Ecoboost
For a 2012 Ford Flex without Ecoboost the correct Curt hitch is # 1355 or the etrailer hitch # e95KR. These hitches are very similar and either would be a great choice. The most popular choice is the Curt # 13551. I would recommend going with the one that costs the least. Curt hitch # C13110 that you referenced is designed to fit the following models: 2009 - 2018 Ford Flex with Dual Exhaust 2010 - 2017 Lincoln MKT with EcoBoost If you plan on doing some towing, I recommend the etrailer...

According to my research you can tow up to 4,500 lbs with your 2016 Ford Flex if you have the Class III Trailer Towing Package (which looks like it includes a 4/7 Way wiring harness, hitch receiver, trailer sway controller, and an engine oil cooler). • Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Fit For 2019 Ford Flex With Dual Exhaust
Hi Richard, No, the Curt hitch you asked about is not a fit for the dual exhaust model of 2019 Ford Flex, though there is one that fits. The correct part number for that hitch is the following: - Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13110 I went ahead and verified this fit directly with the manufacturer for you. Also, if you plan on doing some towing and need a 4-way wiring harness, the correct fit for your '19 Flex is the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56343.

  • Trailer Hitch for a 2010 Ford Flex with or without Dual Exhaust
You are correct, dual exhaust is exhaust on each side of the vehicle, not a dual tip on just one side. But the hitch fits either style. • Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendation for 2018 Ford Flex
For your 2018 Ford Flex the hitch I recommend is the USA made Curt hitch part # C13110. This hitch has great towing capacities at 4,000 lb trailer weight and 400 lb tongue weight, is easy to install, and has a 2 inch opening which is the most popular hitch size. For trailer wiring you'd then want the Tekonsha kit # 118472 which installs easily without requiring any splicing. See install video I attached for this and the Curt hitch. As long as the weight of the carrier plus the weight of the wheelchair/scooter comes in under the tongue weight capacity of the hitch being used on the vehicle, the fact that the Flex has a unibody won't be relevant. When Curt designed the # C13110 for dual exhaust models and the # 13551 for single exhaust models, they did extensive testing to ensure that the vehicles could handle the tongue load the hitches were rated for.
